Cancun

Here are some pics from our trip to Cancun. We had a lot of fun...doing nothing! We stayed at the resort and near the beach the entire time. I guess that's the beauty of "all inclusive"

 

Cookie's New Trick

When we leave my parent's house, we put Cookie in the basement so that she doesn't destroy the kitchen.  One day we returned after running a few errands and found her waiting for us at the door upstairs.. how did she get out of the basement? We performed a little experiment and realized that Cookie was climbing through the old cat hole...

We Moved

We made the move yesterday. We are so thankful for our family that helped us-shout out to Mom, Dad, Gina and Stella! Here are a few pics of the moving madness..

Cookie seems a litle tired but adjusting well to her new life in Minnesota.

Yanni and I are leaving for Cancun tomorrow. We wanted to squeeze in a vacation before Yanni starts his new job. We found a pretty good deal on Groupon Getaways..which helps makes up for our overpriced last-minute airline tickets.

Frugal Websites

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I am working on becoming a better shopper..Here are some websites that I find useful in achieving this goal:

1. Ebates helps me save a little cash on online purchases. It's free and you get a $5 bonus when you start.  When you use their links and purchase something, Ebates will give you a percentage of your purchase back.  My favorite links are DSW (currently 4% cash back) and Groupon (3% cash back). Sign up Here.

2. I recently found this website. Also free, this website allows you to accumulate points. Most people earn points by using the SwagBucks search bar as well as by taking surveys and playing games.  The points can be redeemed at the "Swagbucks Store" for items like amazon gift certificates.

5 Things

5 things that brighten my day:

1) Send a [Valentine's Day] card- I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy receiving mail. 

2) Drawer liners-I bought a pack of lavender scented liners a few weeks ago on clearance at Filene's Basement. It motivates me to actually put my clothes away in the drawers!

3) African Violets- These flowers brighten up any room. They are inexpensive and low maintenance.

4) Make your bed-I have yet to master this habit but I feel better when I make the bed. My room feels cleaner and I feel less stress.

5) Going for a walk (and preferably with Cookie)-Even when the weather stinks a walk is energizing and gives me a chance to enjoy the neighborhood.
